Here we go Streamers! The danes have taken the night off so no dancing dogs no matter how hard you look - but plenty of dancing fools! Shake em if ya got em Streamers! Crawl baby crawl!
The vid is the 6 min Evolution of Dance and it so makes you giggle!
Update on Ava: Word from the Vet! We had a follow up visit this week. The blood is completely drained from her eye, allowing the vet to get a better look at what has been going on. Vet originally thought the eye had detached from the optic nerve due to genetic weakness and rendering her sightless on Oct 11th. Vet now says Ava will regain up to 25 - 30% of her previous vision!! The original diagnosis was wrong (ok, we are all human and make mistakes... this is one I am happy to accept!). I am actually glad the Vet didn't put hope into us. If she had, and Ava would never have regained any sight, it was better to just accept, adapt everything, and move on.
The blindness was caused by a ruptured vein that bled into her eye blocking all light from entering the eye and causing partial cellular damage of the iris. She has eye-drops to aid in the last stages of healing now (suppose to help with swelling and fatigue and reduce stress to that area). Vet also says her vision will be seriously impacted by the amount of light she encounters from one environment to another. Too much light will overload / blind her, and cloudy / shade conditions will give her more visual information. Good to know as we head into the snow glare of winter sunshine days.
Preface to Video: I took video of her and Luna playing in the backyard. She keeps the sun to her back during most of it and you will notice she loses sight of him after he gets 5 feet ahead of her. She sees movement and general shapes beyond 5 feet but no details, and if the sun blinds her, she stops. This is the case with the end of the video clip of her on the stairs. I didn't catch it on video, but because of the sun she misses the first step and stumbles a bit. When that happened, she just stood there for over 2 minutes. It appears as if she can't decide if the door is open or not so she freezes. When I open the door WIDE and block the sun, she is able to see more and you'll see me wave her inside. She is doing really well and as you will see... plays like a mad-dog outside. I can't believe the difference in just a month? Enjoy Streamers!

Here is a treat from the Majordanes~!!! Ava and Luna playing recently. Luna now brings her the rope and engages with her where ever she stands. She also gets the upper hand toward the end, you see her do a "blind" swat in the air and check all sides before the video ends. She is doing really well. Have a great Crawl Streamers!
As some of you know, I am close to completing my graduate degree... and have been managing my time between homework and keeping sane. The Stream has been a constant stop on my self-imposed time outs, helping me relax and laugh at myself.
Well... I thought I should share that I did it. I met the deadline for my first draft of my final paper. It is a big day and I feel lighter (for some strange reason???). The danes and I will play in the backyard tonight... romp and frolic in the cool fall air, and I will breathe easy for a few days.
The paper is not finished by any stretch of the imagination, but I am one step closer. I wanted to share this lovely song with all of you and give back some good vibes to the Stream! Enjoy!
