Ahhhh! So good of you to come! Welcome to the door with the danes... You have to ask yourself... is the candy really worth it??!!! They could get out at any moment and then what? Or worse... something else could get out...
I was up in northern Minnesota presenting at a regional conference related to my profession. While there, I took pictures from my hotel window to share with you and my boy, who was off on his own trip to Portland, OR.
Duluth is not what you think of when Minnesota comes to mind. The city is unlike any we have here, and lake Superior is like staring out at the ocean. With massive ships, lighthouses, and the occasional fog horn blowing, the scene looks set for a New England type movie shoot, instead of depicting a midwestern state.
AVA REPORT: While I was away, Ava mapped the rest of the house. Word is she used several techniques. First, she circled open areas of each room, like the kitchen. Slowly making her way around and careful to find the edges. Second, she worked the living room from one point (the edge of the sofa) out to various spots in the room. Sofa to bookcase and back. Sofa to kennel and back. Sofa to fireplace and back. Sofa to door and back.
She did the same thing in the entry way and circled the open space of the hallway too. Today we sit shocked as we watch her navigate the curves and corners of the space and start to seriously question if she may be able to see something again?! But examining her eye, tells us nothing has changed physically, so her gain must be mental work paying off. Thank you all for the thoughts and well wishes sent out way. I will try to get some of her antics on video soon to show you how she's doing. The critters here at Majordanes were all overjoyed when I returned. It's a party every time and I was so happy to see them! Ok... they were WAAAY more fired up than this, trust me! Enjoy the slideshow Streamers and I am glad to be back in the stream and home with my pack again.
For those of you wondering, the music is from Lemony Snicket's - A Series of Unfortunate Events... from the scene with the letter that never came.
Just like Emerald City boasts of magnificent green gates which welcome you as you enter, so too I imagine Dog-City would boast of large fire hydrants, pond sized public dog bowls, and acres of off leash real estate!
Or maybe just a humble sign like this one to serve as a welcome to all visitors.
I foresee only one problem in dog city.
You would need to watch your step!
I just love searching for "dog-related" music on project playlist! I just never know what will come up next! Have a great time crawlin' Streamers!
This is her lounging pose. She is kickin' back and getting better at mapping the house / furniture with every day that passes. She is even doing the steps to go outside (front and back!). My neighbor was over to check on her to see how she is doing. He used to raise German Shepards and loves Ava to pieces. Sweet of him to worry over her considering he is just back from heart surgery?!
I will post images of Ava's eye below. A before and after picture for you all to see the difference. Like I said, she is in great spirits and yesterday started to play again! She is an amazing animal. Have a great night Streamers and thanks for sending good vibes in her direction.
