I frequently refer to Luna as the "old man" of the house. He is just now 5 years old, but for danes, it means that most of his time here with us has passed. I actually think of it as everything beyond 4 weeks of age for him, is his second chance.
Many of you know that Luna was part of a seize/rescue where his whole litter was found at 4 weeks of age, emaciated and skin rashes. There were thirteen, and 12 made it.
When I went to meet the group at 9 weeks, most of them were crazed (as most puppies are!). They were gorgeous. They were also barking-jumping-climbing and splashing their paws in the water - making such a mess. I was overwhelmed to say the least but resisted the urge to turn-tail and run. I took a deep breath and looking over the mass of swirling puppies all bouncing about, I suddenly saw one peek up...
He was waaaaay at the end, tucked in the corner. A sleepy - yawning puppy head appeared in truly delayed fashion. Without missing a beat, I threw my hand out, index finger extended and pointing... and said, "That one! The sleepy one in the corner - I'll take him!" The rest is history.
Tonight's crawl is dedicated to the ol'man of the house, who groans to herald in his afternoon nap... and to old men everywhere - Majordanes salutes you!

The second song on here is from one of my favorite artists, Tom Waits. The Nickel is a term used to reference an area in LA where homeless congregate. The Nickel is 5th Ave.
These are my Lullabies 4 Luna.
Enjoy Streamers!
I will be back later tonight
after another performance.
Have a great CRAWL!
Sherry
I count my blessings every day with the danes and Numa.
Animals can bring such joy to life and remind us how precious
time really is.
Give a scritch behind the ear to your ol'lady there!
I hope the smoking cessation is going well. You are in my thoughts often!
He is here and happy to have his favorite nap spot
just ready and waiting for him everyday! I am always
so honored that he chose to live his life with me.
Three cheers for the ol'man!
Much love to you Misty!
so many wonderful songs to enjoy by him. Warning... this song
(Man of the World- all 2mins and 2 secs of it)
was NEAR impossible to find. I couldn't believe the
trouble I had trying to get it for this weekend.
Pets are amazing to me and the thought
of losing one is so tough. They just become so
much a part of your life... when they're gone,
you feel it on every level, every day.
Give a pat on the head to your Miss Kitty there!
I hope you are having a wonderful weekend and
let me know if you find any really good M. Cohn
songs from his collection! I am always interested
in hearing more of his stuff.
Did we post about birds on the same crawl
and now artists with the last name of
Cohen / Cohn?
Freakadilly woman!
But way fun!
It just makes me feel
like I am in doggone good
company another woman
with impeccable taste!
But how did you get all those pictures of me? My days with a beard, how I look before my cup of coffee in the morning...
RESPECT through and through.
Shhhhh! I be a sneaky photo person.
Just call me papa-razzi...(pun totally intended).
Kisses sent along the miles to you Anex!
luv ya and your stories and your Danes.

Oh so sweet to see you today! How are you? I hope well.
Ok -I failed to get the info on the dude ranch in NY for you. I had thrown the magazine away by the time I read your reply!
Marc Cohn was the singer for Man of the World. I love his voice and his music - AND many people hear Springteen when they first hear him. Go check him out on youtube.com to see him sing. He has been around for a while.
Isn't it the truth that the animals in our lives find us! They make that connection and in that look we see all the love that lies within. Gabby sounds like she was so happy to have finally found you. I am constantly amazed at their capacity for forgiveness and love. It reminds me of how short I fall in that department sometimes.
From my gang to yours... all kinds of love to you n.
